Today is Omar Wallace Session‘s heavenly birthday. He was born in Waldron, Arkansas on January 21st 1892 to John A Sessions and Martha Kindell. He was drafted into WW1 on December 14th 1917 and was honorable discharged on March 21st 1918. Omar Wallace Session‘s was in the 11th Company Coast Artillery. He was only in for a sort amount of time but he only had a handful of weeks of basic training before being taken to France and attending artillery school in France. He was stationed outside of Paris before the Germany’s started Operation Michael which targeted the allied Artillery. He came back to America and married Cora Eisenhour. They had 5 children : Eugene, Naomi, Wallace, Donald, and Faye. He tried to build and work his own farm in Oklahoma and filled a journal with his farming tips and tricks. Unfortunately Omar came home from the war beaten up from whatever the German’s dumped on the allied forces. He was in and out of Army hospitals after he got home from WW1. He passed away on March 9th 1945 in Oklahoma. My Great Grandmother Cora never remarried and never talked to my dad or me about Omar but she kept letters he had written to her and his photo collection.
